This provides a professional accounting solution that can be expanded with further low-cost modules. The advantage of this is that you don’t need to scrap your accounting system when you outgrow it. A wide range of other options can be ordered from the product’s website. The Omni Accounts interface is easy to use and in many ways is reminiscent of Microsoft’s Outlook. Omni Starter includes all the accounting features that a new small business is likely to require: nominal ledger, customer and supplier management, banking and invoicing. The Starter system is limited to 650 transactions but this limitation is removed with an upgrade to Omni Essential for £19.95. More than 100 other features can be enabled with additional payments but this is no scam as these can cost as little as £2.50. Many features are also available in bundles, which further reduces their cost. You also have 14 days to try any of the optional features before paying for them. These are one-off payments and there are no recurring annual or maintenance charges. The large choice of features means that Omni Accounts should be able to take on the accounting tasks required by any small to medium-sized business. As almost everything is optional, you don’t pay for complex features you’ll never use. Much more business software should be sold this way.
